About the Resort

Gallows Point offers newly renovated, one bedroom oceanfront villas, a gift and coffee shop, and fine-dining at the onsite restaurant, Ocean 362. There are 4 types of rooms: Ocean View Upper, Ocean View Lower, Harbor View Upper, and Harbor View Lower. What they all have in common are spacious living areas, tall ceilings, king sized beds, and fully equipped kitchens.

The resort also offers unique services and amenities including, an oceanfront pool and jacuzzi, snorkeling equipment rentals, and Jeep rentals.

One of the most unique things about the resort is that you can snorkel right off of the property! As I said earlier, you can rent snorkeling equipment from the Gift Shop, then you go down to the resort's shore area and snorkel off the dock!

The Room

We stayed in the beautiful Ocean View Upper room. One thing I personally loved about the room was how spacious it was, and how it felt so homey. The second I walked in I was like "Can this be my new home?". It was a 2-level, 1 bedroom, 1.5 bath villa with stunning ocean views. This is also the ONLY resort in St. John with oceanfront accommodations!

Front of Villa

As I mentioned, we stayed in the Ocean View Upper vila which meant we got to ascend this beautiful staircase surrounded by a lush, tropical landscape to our room. All of the rooms are very accessible and not far from the main office.

Entry Way

This is what you see when you first enter the room. On the right-hand side you will see the staircase which leads to the loft/bedroom, and in front of you the gorgeous, long hallway to the living areas and kitchen (oh, and the beautiful overlook from your patio!).

Living Room

This area is composed of a comfortable couch and loveseat sofa, and a TV (although there's so many other things to do I doubt you will even spend time watching it!). And my favorite part... the gorgeous mural painted on the wall of a USVI landscape. I love how vibrant, welcoming, and open this room was!

Dining Area

Within the same room as the living space, you will find the dining table. Here you are surrounded by large windows with ocean views, and 4 comfortable chairs. It's perfect for a morning coffee, or family dinner!

The full kitchen is also in the same area as the living and dining space. It has everything you would need for a comfortable stay. There's a full refrigerator, freezer, microwave, oven, stovetop, dishwasher, blender, coffee maker, and every kind of pot, pan, and utensils you would need!

Main Floor Bathroom

One of my favorite rooms in the villa.. the main bathroom. It's so spacious and features a gorgeous shower and marble sink (with ocean views from the window!). Also, the amenities that they provide (shampoo, soap, conditioner) are local and felt very luxurious, they can even be purchased!

Upstairs is where you will find the bedroom and a half bath. Once again, I fell in love with the mural that was painted behind the bed. So gorgeous! The bed was large and so comfortable! There was also an armoire and closet in the loft.

Loft Bathroom

The bathroom in the loft was a half bath and matched the stunning aesthetic as the one downstairs. It had everything you would need for nighttime including the same luxurious amenities as the downstairs bathroom!

Oceanfront Balcony

And the best part... the BALCONY! I mean, just look at these views. I loved how there were 2 sets of doors that opened to this beautiful ocean overlook! We sat here in the morning with our coffee, and at night with a bottle of wine and watched the stars. I could've spent all day here!

The Property

The property itself is located on a lushly landscaped, 5-acre peninsula. I absolutely love how you are surrounded by nature wherever you go on the property. The second you step foot outside of your villa you are surrounded by palm trees and the tropical paradise of St. John.

Pool + Hot Tub

One of the best features of the property is the gorgeous pool and hot tub that overlooks the turquoise colored ocean. There are so many lounging chairs to choose from, ones by the pool, ones by the ocean, ones under shade, ones under the sun. I loved having so many options!

The Platform

And my personal favorite.. the floating platform in the ocean! The water was so clear and beautiful it was insane! There was a walkway, with a ladder that went into the ocean which you can climb down and swim/snorkel all around the shore. We even spent like an hour just hanging out and soaking up the sun on the platform!

Coffee + Gift Shop

Just steps away from your villa you will find the Gallows Point Resort Gift & Gourmet Coffee Shop. Here you can find everything ranging from drinks to snacks to souvenirs to rental snorkel equipment to rental Jeeps and more!

Gym with Ocean Views

Another nice feature on the property was the oceanfront gym! I mean, have you seen a gym with views like this before?? The resort's gym has everything you would need for a quick workout before starting your day.

Ocean 362: The Resort's Oceanfront Restaurant

Thank you to Ocean 362 for hosting me. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

Ocean 362 is the on-site fine dining restaurant. It is open 5 days a week for dinner, and I recommend booking a reservation in advance prior to your arrival. You can do this here !

You can find the restaurant above the resorts' main office. It features gorgeous, sweeping views overlooking the ocean.

The cuisine is island to table, with a modern take on Caribbean dishes and ingredients that are sustainably sourced (we love that!). I ordered their vegetarian dish which was a delicious pasta dish - Penne Arrabbiata. It was cheesy with the perfect amount of spice. My boyfriend, Nate, ordered the fish entree of Pan Roasted Atlantic Salmon and absolutely loved it. The fish was so fresh and caught locally.

It is definitely a little pricier than other restaurants we visited (with entrees ranging from $30-60), but the vibe can't be beat and for a special date night it's absolutely perfect. To be honest, everywhere on St. John is pretty expensive so spending a little bit more for this beautiful and delicious restaurant we found to be so worth it. (Especially since it's right on-site - you don't even have to go anywhere!)

Last Thoughts...

Gallows Point Resort is one of my all-time favorite places I've stayed at. We could have spent the entire time at the beautiful resort! (and this is coming from me... someone who usually spends maybe 1 hour a day at the hotel I'm staying LOL). Everything about the property exceeded my expectations and I truly felt like I landed in paradise.

Being able to snorkel off the property and see ocean-life like sea turtles, sharks, etc. is so unique, and was my favorite feature of the resort.

If you are looking for a tropical, beach vacation in paradise, this has to be it! The location couldn't be better and the views are impossible to beat. Staying here is worth every penny, and I already can't wait to visit again sometime in the future!
